Flipnote Studio 3D... Never comming out?

    About 4 years ago Nintendo announced that a new app (the predecessor to the Flipnote Hatena drawing application) would come out for the Nintendo 3DS. Fast forward to the year 2013, the members of the online community of Flipnote Hatena learned that on May 31st, 2013 the community will soon be discontinued and move to the 3DS on an app called Flipnote Studio 3D. Many users were mad, but some very hopeful. Nintendo said that Japan would get the application on July 4th but then pushed the date back to July 24th, 2013 for server prederation. The european and North American release dates however were kept at August 1st (for EU) and 'early August' (for NA). However weeks came and the Nintendo of Europe tweeted this-

However the Nintendo of the NA region never notified the fans in a tweet, but rather kept the fans of the Application waiting and looking. 

     Reactions to this were anywhere from "Oh that's okay I can wait!" to "HOW COULD YOU?!" Originally the problem was do to server problems and a "high usage from Japanese users." So you'd think that would be the end of the problem? Sadly no. Some months before that issue (about 5 or so) some reports of minors in Japan and adults were engaging in inappropriate actions on Swapnote and Flipnote Studio: Gallery Friends

"Nintendo's 3DS message relay service, known as Swapnote in the USA and Nintendo Letter Box in other regions, has had its SpotPass functionality disabled abruptly and permanently, essentially terminating the application. Flipnote Studio 3D, which was so far only released in Japan but had been set for a future release in the West, shares the same fate.

     The decision was made after Nintendo discovered that some people had been exchanging friend codes with minors online, then sending offensive material to them through the two 3DS messaging services.

     Swapnote Special Notes with custom stationery, often sent from Nintendo to promote new games, will also no longer be sent. StreetPass functionality remains intact, though of limited use since it only functions for friends who pass by each other physically, and only one note can be set for transmission at a time.

     Nintendo has offered an apology to those who actively used both applications responsibly. The company will continue to raise awareness of the 3DS parental control options, but at this time a reactivation of either service seems unlikely.

There is no word as to whether Wii U communications will be affected."

   This was a huge blow back. A lot of fans of Nintendo felt bad, some also showed the rage of hell and attack / criticised Nintendo. Some saying things like "If facebook used Nintendo's logic in this situation that would mean no more facebook. One person doesn't have to mess it up for everyone." "This is the internet what do you think would happen?" and much more. Forum websites, Facebook fan pages, keywords on Hatena Haiku, Miiverse, and many more places rage with hate towards Nintendo. All the fans can do now is wait. Wait and hope that this application will come out.
